Youth At Work Inc. (YAWI) was formally established in 2017, born from a clear recognition of the need for a dedicated, youth-centric approach to development in Papua New Guinea. Our foundation is built upon the global principles of the Dakar Framework for Action and is directly aligned with the national blueprint for progress—PNG Vision 2050, specifically Pillar No. 1: Human Capital Development, Gender, Youth, and People Empowerment.
We started with a simple yet powerful mission: to move beyond addressing youth problems and instead focus on developing youth potential. By adopting a Positive Youth Development (PYD) and Education for All (EFA) framework, we commit to engaging young people as active partners in creating solutions for themselves and their communities.
